Enter your phone model in the search engine bar, and add the site address w3bsit3-dns.com. So you will find the forum page of your phone, or its equivalent. As a rule, the topic header will contain available firmware and instructions for your phone.

We will not talk about trivial things like "make sure the firmware is correct" or "make a backup first", as well as about the possible reasons for such a step and its consequences. We proceed from the fact that we want to install a version of the OS that is different from the factory one. We need a memory card with a firmware file in * .zip format.

Then there are two options:

  • Using special Android software like CWM Recovery, TWRP Recovery or ROM Manager. For each specific application, you need to search for information separately. But in general, it all comes down to resetting the settings, choosing an archive from the card, after which the firmware process begins.
  • Using computer . You will also have to install the Fastboot utility or Odin Multi Downloader on it. In addition, you will need to unlock Bootloader (analogous to BIOS in Android, located outside the OS itself).

Before starting work, you need to read a good guide about any of the options, make sure you understand the essence of the process. In addition, from version to version, its own subtleties are possible, ignorance of which can cause problems. Custom firmware is an unsafe thing, so it's not worth doing it like God.

First you need to find the firmware for your phone. To do this, enter the exact and full name of your model in the search box. If your smartphone is completely new, be prepared for the fact that there may not be a modified firmware for it.

If you find the firmware, be sure to make sure that it is for your model!

Even very similar models of the same company may differ in hardware. There are compatible models with interchangeable firmware, but there are not too many of them. And if you install the wrong software, you risk turning your phone into a brick.

If you find the firmware you need, look for instructions on how to flash it for your smartphone. You need a firmware program (depending on what platform the smartphone is made on) and a program for removing the backup.

Try to make a full backup (for example, via TWRP Recovery), not just a backup. Then, in case of an unsuccessful firmware, you can quickly return to the state of the system that was before it.

And now, you are ready - you downloaded the firmware, the flasher, made a backup of the system (at least saved required files), all instructions have been studied. All that remains is to fully charge the device and start flashing.

First, you need to enable USB debugging. To do this, follow the path Settings - About phone, find the line "Build number" and click on it until the inscription that you have become a developer is displayed. After that, take a step back, find the "For Developers" item, go in, turn it on (at the top of the screen there will be an inscription "Off" and a slider that needs to be moved to the right). Scroll down to the "Debugging" section where you want to enable USB debugging.

After that, make sure your phone is fully charged and turn it off. It remains to open the flasher, select your firmware in it (follow the instructions for the flasher) and connect the switched off smartphone via USB, holding down the necessary buttons (as a rule, the power and volume down buttons). You can release them only when the firmware has already started!

Wait for a message on the PC about the successful completion of the firmware, disconnect the phone from USB, remove and reinsert the battery (if it is removable) and turn it on. Be prepared for the first time after flashing your smartphone will turn on longer than usual.
