January, 2021As far as I understand, it won't be any different. With a sufficiently careful transfer of the entire logical structure to artificial materials, there will be practically no differences. Like, for example, if we write a book on paper and then transfer it to a USB flash drive. At first glance, the difference is huge, but the content of the book has not changed at all.

It all depends on what is consciousness, an artificial body, an ideal AI?
These substances are underdetermined.
For example, let's take a human body for simplicity. Let's replace the hand with an artificial one. Is he still a man? Let's replace the second one. Is he a man now? And if we consistently replace the legs, torso? Let's leave the head for now. Is he still human? What if we start to consistently replace neurons with artificial ones? When, at what point will it become AI?
Consciousness is impossible to transfer. It is inseparable from the brain. But creating a humanoid AI is probably possible. I do not see any fundamental obstacles. Only technical and ethical.
